HOME:
We provide safety and connection — a home — for our clients who are marginalized, isolated, & vulnerable due to stigma and discrimination.

History: Asian & Pacific Islander Wellness Center started in 1987 as a grassroots response to the HIV/AIDS crisis in Asian & Pacific Islander communities. We endeavored to meet the real health care needs of the most disenfranchised A&PIs.

A&PI Wellness Center has grown to become a multicultural health services, education, research, and policy organization. We transform lives, strengthen well-being, and lead under-served communities—of any race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, or immigration status—toward justice and health. We continue to educate, support, empower, and advocate for the most marginalized and vulnerable in our communities, particularly A&PIs and people living with HIV. With 25 years of experience in addressing the health needs of communities of color, A&PI Wellness Center has the ability to put innovative, holistic, and effective programs and services in place.

Free Medical Clinic: The Wellness Clinic provides holistic, high quality, culturally competent and linguistically accessible primary health care, preventative care, and early intervention as well as behavioral health services. Our services are available free-of-charge for low income, uninsured or under-insured San Franciscans who would otherwise have no access to health care.

Who We Serve

We welcome and accept adults of all sexual orientations, genders, marital status, family configurations and different mental and physical abilities. If you are Asian, Pacific Islander, or LGBT, our Wellness Clinic will provide you with the comprehensive, compassionate, culturally-sensitive care you want and need and can't always get from other health care providers. We seek to deliver quality health care in a caring atmosphere to strengthen our community's health and well-being.

Services are offered on an outpatient basis and will emphasize early intervention, health education, and prevention of illness. Our expert medical team is comprised of dedicated, committed professionals who serve without financial compensation.
