CHAA is implementing a Full Service Partnership for children ages 0-18 and their families living in Far East Contra Costa County who are unserved or underserved and who have severe mental health issues, in collaboration with Familias Unidas and Contra Costa County Mental Health Division. Programming is Wraparound, and provided in the community and at Brentwood and Antioch office sites by a multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural Integrated Services Team, including personal services coordinators, family support counselors, bi-lingual family partners, a co-occurring mental health/alcohol and other drugs services specialist, and peer mentors. This program is funded from the Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) (Proposition 63), that California voters passed in November 2004. The MHSA is intended to transform the public mental health system by creating a state-of-the-art, culturally competent system that promotes resiliency for consumers with serious emotional disorders and their families.
